Dr. Leanne Werdy is a Syrian American mother, pharmacist and medical technologist, former researcher, human rights and political advocate in addition to humanitarian aid activist.
Dr. Leanne is a Pharm D graduate from Nova Southeastern University and board-certified multi-states licensed pharmacist; she recently worked in community pharmacy setting in Arizona state.
Her previous areas of expertise are molecular virology technology, immunology, microbiology, histopathology and cytology technologies. In addition to different pharmaceutical dosage forms production, pharmaceutical quality control, quality assurance and medications stability studies.
Dr. Leanne was born in Aleppo to a well-known family of human and political advocates; her family relocated to Saudi Arabia when she was 9 months of age, when the Assad regime started targeting their educated and activist Syrian citizens. In 1983, her family moved to the United Arab Emirates where she was raised and got most of her education. She got several awards from H.H, Sheikh Sultan ben Mohammed Al Qasimi for Excellency and high achievement in her education, every year from 1995-2001 including full scholarship from his Diwan to study at University of Sharjah.
Dr. Leanne is a multiculturally competent person, which helps strengthen her communication and public relations skills. She loves poetry, art, animals, nature, traveling and adventures.
Since the rise of Arabic springs, Dr. Leanne supported all revolutions that demanded democracy, freedom of speech, human rights and justice, specifically the Great Syrian Revolution.
Dr. Leanne Participated in several rallies in the United States of America against the Assad regime after the violent actions towards Syrians revolutionists. She organized and participated in several fundraisers for Al-Zaatari Camp in Jordan, in addition to being a member of the Syrian American Medical Society and donating to its campaigns.
Beyond her medical career and advocacy, Dr. Leanne is a mother of two beautiful daughters; Aya, 14 years old and Lana, 8 years old.
Dr. Leanne believes in the magic of words in creating effective spiritual empowerment for vulnerable populations. The magic of good faith in our advocacy and efforts to bring global peace and justice to those who are suffering from excessive violence and lack of essential resources and human rights. She continues to advocate for her homeland and her small family to live a free and prosperous life.
