Citizens for a Secure and Safe America (C4SSA) strongly condemns the recent Israeli military incursion into sovereign Syrian territory, which resulted in the tragic loss of innocent civilian lives.
As a Syrian-American organization dedicated to peace, stability, and the rule of law, we view these actions as deeply troubling and fundamentally inconsistent with the principles that underpin international security.
From an American perspective, unilateral military operations conducted in violation of international law and outside any recognized legal framework directly undermine U.S. national interests. Such strikes heighten regional tensions, complicate ongoing diplomatic efforts, weaken the credibility of global norms governing state behavior, and work against the long-term U.S. objective of reducing conflict and preventing dangerous escalation across the Middle East.
The United States has a strategic interest in promoting respect for national sovereignty, strengthening regional stability, and upholding the rules-based international order. Repeated cross-border attacks—especially those resulting in civilian casualties—erode these foundational principles, deepen cycles of violence, and further destabilize an already fragile region.
C4SSA urges the United States government and the international community to remain steadfast in defending international law, to take all necessary steps to prevent further escalatory actions, and to support efforts that protect civilians and advance genuine regional security.
