Syrian American Organizations Unite to Celebrate One Year of Liberation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Syrian American organizations will host a landmark one-day conference and gala on Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at the Washington Hilton on Capitol Hill to celebrate the first anniversary of Syria’s liberation and discuss the country’s next chapter.

The event, titled “United for Syria: A Vision for the Future,” is co-hosted by Citizens for a Secure and Safe America (C4SSA), Syrian American Council (SAC), Karam Foundation, MedGlobal, and the Syrian American Alliance for Peace and Prosperity (SAAPP).

This historic collaboration will bring together leading Syrian voices, policy experts, innovators, and global allies to discuss the major issues shaping Syria’s future, including education, technology, advocacy, health, justice, innovation, and more— spotlighting bold ideas and opportunities for joint action.

Notable guest speakers include Syrian officials such as Ambassador Ibrahim Olabi, the Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, Qutaiba Idlibi, the Director of American Affairs at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Abdulwahab Omira, the Head of AI and Government Applications at the Syrian Ministry of Communications. The program will also feature Congressman Joe Wilson and other notable U.S. officials, in addition to leading experts, journalists, and Syrian advocates, including Celine Kasem, Lina Sergie Attar, Dr. Zaher Sahloul, Arwa Damon, Mohammad Ghanem, Joud Monla-Hassan, and Caroline Rose.

While the conference (running from 8 am to 4 pm ET) will feature dynamic discussion and expert-led panels, the gala (from 6 pm to 10 pm ET) will celebrate community, resilience, and renewed hope for Syria’s next chapter.
