WASHINGTON, D.C. — Citizens for a Secure and Safe America (C4SSA) welcomes the historic visit of Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), to Damascus for a meeting with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa. This marks the first visit of its kind and represents a significant step forward in advancing stability, security, and unity in Syria.

In their discussions, Admiral Cooper and President Al-Sharaa explored opportunities for cooperation, both politically and militarily. Their engagement reflects a shared recognition that constructive dialogue is essential to address recent challenges and lay the groundwork for long-term stability.

The presence of the CENTCOM commander in Damascus highlights the importance of a new era of partnership to help Syrians rebuild their country, strengthen national institutions, and move toward a unified and prosperous future.

“We see this visit as a major step in the right direction,” said Dr. Muhammad Bakr Ghbeis, President of C4SSA. “It is a clear signal that international and regional partners are ready to support Syria’s path toward stability, security, and lasting peace.”

C4SSA believes that this milestone opens the door to continued dialogue, renewed partnerships, and a stronger commitment to ensuring that Syria emerges from years of conflict united and stable.
